Visible only when you choose
Nearby is off until you turn it on, and it switches off by itself when your session ends.
The real-life social app
Meet people nearby. In real life.
Kogoto shows you who else is around you right now, at your campus, café, hostel or event, so a nearby moment can become a real connection.
Free on iPhone and Android
Real Kogoto screens with sample profiles.
We're surrounded by people. We rarely meet them.
The person next to you in the lecture hall, at the hostel bar or at the conference coffee break could be your next friend. Kogoto makes that first hello easier.
How it works
From nearby to face to face in four steps.

- 4

Send a request. Once it's accepted, chat, then say hi in person.
Ready to meet the people around you?
Nearby
See who's around you, right now.
Turn on Nearby for 30 minutes up to 4 hours and Kogoto discovers the people around you over Bluetooth. Only people who are also visible can appear, and nobody sees your exact location.
- Bluetooth discovery, no GPS
- No exact distance, only “very close”, “close”, “nearby”
- You decide when you're visible, and for how long
Kogoto Spots
Every place has a community. Spots make it visible.
A Spot is the digital layer of a real place: a university, a student residence, a hostel, a hotel, a café or a coworking space. Scan the Spot's QR code, say how long you're staying, and discover the people who are there with you.
- Follow your favourite places and see how many people are there right now
- Only people currently at the Spot can see each other
- Rate a Spot with a Kogoto review after your visit

Event Mode
Meet the people at your event, not just the ones you came with.
Kogoto doesn't replace the event. It adds a digital layer that makes it easier for attendees to find each other and talk in real life. Scan the event QR code and see who else is there.
